I
InsanEMunkeY
(Basic) Shortened Explanation:
Word files are larger than other programs. Why do Word documents have to be
the largest when they contain the same things as others? I want space-saving
Word files.
Advanced Explanation:
My second computer does not use office, but uses Corell Word Perfect. I
saved it from Word Perfect to a floppy as a Word Perfect file (.wpd). Then I
saved it as a text (.txt) file just in case Microsoft Word didn't interpret
the file correctly. Microsoft Word did interpret the file correctly, but I
noticed a file size difference. When I saved it again as a Word file (.doc),
it was 7KB larger than Word Perfect file and (of course) 22kb larger than the
..txt file. All of the documents contained the same thing when opened. Why do
Word documents have to be the largest when they contain the same things as
others? I want space-saving Word files.
