Last month I did a clean install of Office 2000 on a 1.9GHz WinXP computer. After the
install, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and outlook opened up almost immediately. Speed,
speed, speed!
But after installing the SR-1 patch directly from a Microsoft CD. there is a noticeable
delay when opening any Office application, of about 3 seconds.
(the computer is absolutely clean of viruses & spyware)
Is this a habit of Office Service Packs to slow down computers? I'm about to do an
install of OfficeXP on a new and clean install of a Windows 2000 computer. Should I
beware of OfficeXP service packs as well?
Thanks,
Bill.
