Office and the Mac

How would a network of Macintosh clients enjoy Office System servers
like LCS, SPS...etc. Will there be a loss in functionality? Do they
have the necessary clients to access these servers?

Hi June!

From what I've read about Live Communication Server, you would have to
have a Mac-compatible IM client (iChat is not presently compatible) that
utilizes the SIP and SIMPLE protocols. I'm not familiar enough with IM
products or LCS to be able to tell you if any exist, but there shouldn't
be anything Mac-specific precluding Macs from being client machines.

SharePoint Portal Server is suppose to be a web-based network
application, which means that theoretically it would be compatible with
any platform. However, Microsoft has a tendency to include many Windows
IE specific implementations that aren't really compatible with other web
browsers.

I've never had the opportunity to try either of these servers with
today's Macs but I would expect compatibility problems and in some cases
complete lack of functionality. I would love to be proven wrong.
