Au contraire, there is a specific blog that explains all -
http://blogs.msdn.com/jensenh - that if you had read, would realize that Microsoft did not just pull a wild hair out of its head.
As for Open Office, it is a horrible suite - I just tried the latest version on Ubuntu and the interface, while familiar, is not nearly as intuitive as Office 2007.
As for Thunderbird, it is a decent mail program, but not sufficient to replace Outlook or even Outlook Express.
As for linux distros in general, I have been going down the list of them, installing and using for about a month each, and have not found a single one that will be a suitable replacement for Windows.

After furious head scratching, Open Office fan asked:
| Or you could do as I have done, and save a lot of hassle by switching
| to Open Office, and try Firefox, Thunderbird and next time you need a
| new OS, try Linux Mt small business, which used to be entirely
| MS-based, is now switching, and all becqause as, IT person, I got fed
| up with the recent changes.
|
| Good luck! At least the change is not going to cost you much, and
| will take less time than grappling with the latest MS innovations,
| which no one has explained why they are improvements.

||| ||| Only by using the installation CDs - you must install from CD and
||| not just copy the program files over from the other computer.
|||
|||
|||| I have recently bought another computer with Vista Home Premium. I
|||| have been trying to install my previously purchased copy of Office
|||| on the new computer. Unfortunately I do not have the original CDs
|||| for the program. I have been getting an error message stating that

|||| able to be transferred from one computer to another? Thanks,
