Office Application Version Does Not Match

I bought a laptop with Vista Business and pre-installed Office 2007 Trial
Version. Since I already have Office 2003, I installed my Office 2003. After
that, I used Add/Remove Program to remove Office 2007.

Each time I start an Office Application, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, I
get an error message "Office Application Version Does Not Match". I also
cannot start Microsoft Outlook 2003. The error message is "MAI32.DLL is
corrupt or the wrong version".

Can someone kindly how can I rectify these problems. THANKS!

Sounds like you neglected to uninstall the "Business Contact
Manager for Outlook 2007" component of Office 2007.

In addition to what G-N-O said you should have uninstalled the trial and any
activation wizard prior to installing Office 2003. If G-N-O's fix doesn't
work to solve the issue, uninstall Office 2007. You will then probably have
to run a repair on Office 2003. There may be a chance that you may have to
uninstall and then reinstall '03 totally.
