Office Applications Hang on Look In or opening a directory

I have word haning when i click on Look In or on a Directory to see files in
that directory. HOur glass shows, click on CLose dialogue, app dumps. IE
does not respond to looking up any addresses entered, unless from a short
vut. Seems to be virus free as per NAV Corp edition, done an office repair,
cleared temp files, etc.

Help appreciated....thanks

Same symptoms as everyone else posting here. Same solution:

Also, for those who prefer to uninstall the offending update, a corrected
version that deals with the conflicts will be available next Tuesday through
Windows Update and Automatic Updates.
