I have a computer with Toshiba Bluetooth stack version 5.10.01 (should be the
latest), Windows XP Pro SP2. My problem is that Office applications (Outlook,
Excel) periodically lose focus, making using them almost impossible. After
long investigation I found out that the focus is lost every time some
application tries to open Bluetooth connection to my mobile phone. Now, I
have Sony Ericsson PC Suite for synchronization of my Outlook to mobile phone
and that does try to connect to phone from time to time, thus causing Office
application to lose focus.
Bluetooth manager windows is not visible during this problem. Problem occurs
both when Systray icon for BT manager is turned on or turned off. No other
window is activated, the Office applications just become inactice for a
second or so and then reactivate.
No other applications seem to lose focus (Internet Explorer, MSN Messenger,
3rd party applications), only Office applications are affected.
I am using Outlook 2003 (11.8118.8107) SP2 and Excel 2000 (9.0.6926 SP3).
What is the solution to this problem? Can I somehow configure Office to stop
it from losing it's focus?
Most obvious solution would be to get rid of Toshiba bluetooth stack but I
do not know how to do it. I am not even sure if Microsoft stack would support
my hardware (Fujitsu-Siemens S7110 notebook with built-in Cambridge Silicon
bluetooth) and I haven't found a way to install Microsoft BT stack to my
notebook.
