I

Echo S, TAJ Simmons, and Glen Millar from Microsoft
Community Newsgroups sent me here for further advice.
I run Office XP on Windows 2000 Professional with up-to-
date service packs.
All apps I use (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) have this
problem. They all worked a couple of weeks ago. I
installed one new app (HP scanjet 4600). Perhaps this is
what started the problem (maybe replacing comctl32.dll,
but I do not know).
The problem manifests when I begin the import. The file
browser dialog appears but does not fill. Then a debug
dialog appears to send Microsoft the bug report on
comctl32.dll. Then the app relaunches.
Any advice on how to fix the problem is appreciated.
