Office apps hang up on when clicking on "save in" drop box

Office 2003 apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) hang up when I click the "save in"
drop box. I can save by selecting "my computer" or other path to desired
directory.

I have tried to "repair", uniinstall and reinstall etc, all to no avail. No
discrenible reason for this starting, but it was not the case on initial
install a few months back.

Any ideas????

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop,
left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped
drives that are not currently available.

Thanks for this. Worked like a charm BUT ... surely this is a major glitch.
Now every time I log on to my VPN I have to reconnect, and disconnect on log
out. Shame on MS! This should not be forced on users. Shame

Our company was experiencing this same issue. However, I believe that this
"fix" should only be applied to network locations that are no longer
available (i.e. mapped drives or file locations that no longer exist). I
have not had to disconnect drive mappings that are functional.

Maybe "available" means "immediately available" which is not the case with
VPNs! That hardly fits the definition of functional. But thanks for the
response ...

Sounds like sloppy/lazy mapping. The script should only map available
drives.
