Office apps will not open existing files

HELP! I experienced problems opening ANY existing
document in Office 2000, said that it could not open the
files and gave an alphanumeric reason code (files did not
line up, or something like that). So, I uninstalled
2000, and installed Office 2003 Pro.

Still, no existing files will open, says now that my anti-
virus is blocking it. I closed Norton AV and the same
message appears. I started a new ocument, then saved and
closed it. It, too, will not open once it is saved.

Any ideas...? Thanks!

Try this,
Open Norton AV / click the options button / on menu options other, click miscellaneous / de-select "enable Office plug-in". This may help.

I am running NAV Corporate edition and do not have
the "Options" menu. Any one know how to enable in that
version?
