Office Appswon't start in WinVista from menu

Recently I have had a problem starting my office apps from the program menu.
I can open them from a document or a shortcut (like outlook) because the path
is there. Did some update corrupt the startup paths in the menu system? Is
there a KB article to fix this problem?
