office assistant can't make any sound

My sound to my office assistant is not working. It worked when I install
Microsoft Office but now it doesn't. When I try to turn it on by using the
options sheet. I get a error message "Assistant Sound Effects cannot be
enabled at this time. Try turning it on from the Microsoft Agent Property
Sheet". Do you know what I need to do to fix this problem? I do not know
where the Microsoft Agent Property sheet is or why this happened.
