Office assistant changes

I have Windows XP SP1 with Office 2002. I installed Project Professional
2003. I ran update and Office and Project have the latest patches. I have
Links the Cat as the office assistant in Word. When I open Word, Links
appears. Then I open Project and Links appears. Then I close both and
reopen Word and the office assistant converts back to Clippit. How do I
retain Links forever without Project throwing it out in favor of Clippit?
