Office Assistant Gallery Choices 2004

I just installed Office 2004 on my MAC and I want to change my Office
Assistant in Word using the gallery choices. When I choose Options,
then Gallery, the "back" and "next" buttons are grayed out and I'm
stuck with Max, the computer with legs. How can I get another choice
like one of those dogs that was available in Office 2001? Thanks.

They took a lot of the assistants options out of 2004. If you had Office X
or knew someone who did, you could definitely take them off the X CD (maybe
in value pack?) and put them in the apps/ms office/office/assistants folder
where Max is all lonely. But I can't imagine it would work if you tried
that with Office 2001, though I don't know that trying would do any harm.

I take that back. Dig out your Office 2001 CD, look in the Value Pack for
the assistants, and copy the one you want into apps/ms office
2004/office/assistants. I've only tested it for a minute with clippit, but
apparently it works, no idea if it will have long term effects.
