Office assistant issue in MS Office 2003

The following message appears sporadically when using
Office 2003 products.

"There are no office assistant character files present on
the system. Please run setup in maintenance mode and
install at least one character."

The office assistant characters have been installed, they
are "normally" available, however, the message appears at
various times.

Any ideas why?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have uninstalled all other versions of Office, though I still have FrontPage 2002. Is that the problem?
