I always get the below error message eveytime I open either Words or Excel
after I installed OutLook 2003.
"There are no Office Assistant character files present on the system. Please
run Setup in maintenance mode and install at least one character."
I did try to disable office assistant from registry base on the followinf
steps:
1. Open the registry on your computer.
2. Navigate to HKEY_
LOCAL_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\[version]\Common\Assistant where
[version] is the version of Office you are running. For example, select 9.0
for Office 2000, 10.0 for Office XP, and 11.0 for Office 2003.
Select each key within the details pane and click Delete from the Edit menu.
You must delete each DWORD value within the key.
3. Close the Registry Editor
But I can't located the Assistant folder inside the Common folder. Please
advise me what I I do to solve this problem.
