Office Audit Feature / Capability

Hardip

Hi All

I am working on an third party application that outputs document to word,
powerpoint etc. As part of the legal requirements any documents printed need
to be audited i.e. if you want to print something an event log has to be
created with information such as user ID, time stamp, reason for printing etc.

What would be the best method to investigate designing this feature further
for a set number of workstations that require this feature?

I'd appreciate the thoughts of any experts who can help to explore options.

Thanks in advance to all who respond,
H

PowerPoint has a PresentationPrint event that an add-in could trap and respond
to. It dosen't appear that it supports a CANCEL clause, so may not be able to
cancel the print job if needed (ie, user declines to supply required
information).

Worth looking at.
