Office autocorrect is great for quick entries of words you type frequently.
But there's a problem with the autocorrect programming that prevents using
logical single-letter entries to enter words. If, say, I want Word to enter
"the" whenever I type "t" followed by a space, autocorrect will do that if
the "t" is preceded by a space (which is the normal use) but it also
interprets any non-alphabetic character as a space also (such as an
apostrophe or a parenthesis mark). So an entry of "doesn't" results in Word
displaying "doesnthe", which is NOT the way it should work! Mobile devices
are all set up to handle single character autotexting, so why isn't Office?
Is there a work-around for this (e.g., will the exceptions function accept
wildcard characters?)
