Office Basic OEM

T

Hi there

I have 3 PCs in my small office, all currently running Office 2007
B2TR. Since these will all "die" on 31 March, I need to replace them.
I can get Office Basic (all I need) OEM licenses for about £100 each,
which is fine. Where do I get the media from? Can I download the
trial
version of Office Standard (there does not appear to be a trial of
Office Basic) and then activate Word, Excel and Outlook with the
Office Basic licenses?

Cheers

I wouldn't pay £1 for software if I don't get a genuine CD from the
manufacturer. Personal opinion.

Hi Tom,

The MS Office OEM (preinstalled) editions are sold by MS as intended for use on new PCs and Office Basic is an 'OEM only' product.

In many cases, new PCs are being sold with what MS calls
'medialess license kit' packages with a backup CD then available through MS at
http://microsoft.com/office/backup/en-us/default.mspx
