Office Beta 2 v. Final Release

Does anyone know where i can find a list of the
differences between the final release of Office 2003 and
the Beta 2 Refresh. Particularly for MS Word. One small
but annoying thing is that in the Beta versions all the
apps were refered to as Microsoft Office Word 2003,
Microsoft Office Excel 2003, etc. Now in the RTM version,
the titles seem to have reverted to Microsoft Word,
Microsoft Excel, etc. See the title bar. However, the
changes don't seem to be complete and haven't been made to
the start menu & help menus. Does anyone know what the
official name of these products is now?

Hi Ailise,

The release version of Office didn't change
feature sets from the Office System 2003 v2
technical refresh edition, only tweaks and
bug fixes.

The official 'marketing' name for each app
is Microsoft Office (name of app here) 2003
but, you'll continue to see the usual 'Microsoft Word'
title in use not only in the apps but in the websites
and the knowledge base. Here's an example where MS
interchanges both:

If you upgrade in place over the beta, you will need to reboot to show the
correct information.

Hi Ailise,

You've asked this before.
Starting with the 2003 version Microsoft Office is
the Microsoft Office System.
http://microsoft.com/office/preview/system

of which Microsoft Office 2003 is a part
http://microsoft.com/office/preview/system/overview.asp

The app names are Microsoft Office 2003 (name of app), but for
a variety of reasons the names, including automation
routines that are looking for a title such as 'Microsoft Word'
for example when they're running, both designations will
continue to be used in the products,
in the product literature and on the
Office websites

http://microsoft.com/office
http://office.microsoft.com
http://msdn.microsoft.com/office

An example is shown in the first paragraphs of the
Microsoft Office Word 2003 overview:
http://microsoft.com/office/preview/editions/word.asp

Office apps are also known by their 'version' number
in help about, so Word is also Word v11, just as
Word 2002 (part of Office XP) was also Word v10.
