I installed Office Pro 2007 beta (as an upgrade) without any problems except
for no application name in the warning when it detected that Outlook was
still running during the install.
However, I found out that the Office 2003 document scanning no longer would
convert to text by OCR using the Italian language. This may be due to
incompatibilities between some of the beta software and the older scanning or
language packs version. I removed Office Pro beta and the scanning then
worked properly.
But Outlook 2003 would not start, complaining about an incorrect version of
mapi32.dll. Tried several solutions, including repair and a de/re-install of
Outlook 2003. Finally had to boot to safe mode and remove msmapi32.dll (not
mapi32.dll). When booted normally, Outlook installed the older version of
msmapi32.dll and now works properly.
