Edgardo B.
Hello,
I've created the admin install point using by extracting the
fileformatconverters.exe which revealed the msi along with other files.
Install file retreieved from:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...70-3ae9-4aee-8f43-c6bb74cd1466&displaylang=en
However, when trying to update the .msi with the Service Pack 1 .msp from
(I've also extraced the file to reveal the .msp):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...C5-49C6-47BD-8BEC-0D68693CA564&displaylang=en
I get the following in the resulting log file:
---------------------

MSI (c) (64:B8) [14:04:46:949]: Product: Compatibility Pack for the 2007

I believe a clue is in the line that reads, "Expected product version ==
12.0.4518.1014, found product version 12.0.6021.5000." (Although it
mentions a successful install, no files have been updated, only the msiexec
/a /p command completed successfuly)
Upon installing the Compatibility Pack w/no Service Pack from the above
mentioned link, indeed version 12.0.6021.5000 is installed. I am able to
apply the .msp file manually (not updating the .msi admin install point) and
the version after SP1 is applied is 12.0.6214.1000. Indicating to me that
the Compatibility Pack download may be a newer version than the SP1 expected
and does not install with this method but does support manual updating.
After Googling, there is another who has experience the same as I:
http://www.eggheadcafe.com/software/aspnet/31435146/office-2007-compatibility.aspx
Alas there was no response to the user's query for assistance.
I would be thankful for any assistance this newsgroup may provide.
Thanks!
Edgardo
