Office compatibility pack: track changes

Can anyone please offer a fix? I'm running the Office 2007 compatibility pack
against an Office 2003 install on XP SP3. When I open a .docx file with track
changes enabled, make changes and then save it, the changes I have made are
reflected as being changes of the previous reviewer. It seems that the
compatibility pack allows only one reviewer.

Interestingly this error only occurs in relation to a file converted from
Word 2003 to Word 2007. If I create a new document in .docx format, the bug
doesn't appear and track changes works as it should.
