Office docs cannot save to Network Drive

We are receiving an "Out of disk space or Memory" error
when trying to save Office documents to our Windows 2000
server.

This problem only occurs with Office documents other
applications can save fine. It is not a permission error
and there is 163 gig of free disk space and memory is also
adequate.

The problem started happening around 2 p.m. yesterday, no
changes had been made at this time (that I'm aware of).

I have seen many posts with this type of problem but no
solution.
