Office docs recieved by E-mail won't open

I am having trouble opening excel and word documents
recieved via E-Mail the error is as follows

"Passed printers 1 can not be accessed. the file may be
read-only, or you may be trying to access a read only
location, Or, the server the document is stored on may not
be responding"

The E-mail server is running fine and the documents are
not read only, Can anybody help please

Mark,
I might be having a similar problem on a clients machine.
It suddenly won't open any Office docs.
Dialog box states: "unable to read file" and no other
clues.
Please let me know if you find a fix.
