OFFICE DOCUMENTS ARE OPENING IN SEARCH COMPANION

I save my excel and word documents in folders and when I go to open the
folders now they just want to open in search mode. I have to go back in and
right click and hit open instead of just double clicking on the folder.

It is annoying and I do not know how this started , this has been going on
for a few weeks now. Any advice?

Thank you, But I do not know how to get to registry key or how to make back
up. Do you have any further info on this?
