| | Hello Matt,
| |
| | Since the issue only occurred on the files stored on the network, I
would
| | like to know if you have checked this article:
| |
| | An Office program is slow or may appear to stop responding (hang) when
| you
| | open a file from a network location
| |
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833041
| |
| | Also, we can place a txt file on the network location and try to open
| with
| | your 64bit client, what is the result?
| |
| | In addition, please let us know if the issue occurred when you first
open
| | Office applications on the client and then open the file on the network
| via
| | File > Open?
| |
| | If we encounter the same issue, please run Word safe mode to narrow
down
| | the problem.
| |
| | Click start, click run, type "winword /a", please open the file on the
| | network, what is the result?
| |
| | If there is any update, feel free to post back.
| |

| | | I have done some further testing. It appears that when documents are
| | copied
| | | to the local disk and double clicked, they DO open straight away -
must
| | have
| | | missed a trick here.
| | | I copied the dame document back to the network drive and tried to
open
| it
| | -
| | | 3 minutes + before it opened.
