Hi,
I work in a school environment and have been trying to deploy Office XP to
my network of 500+ PCs via Group Policy and MSIs. I have made an MST file to
point to our Exchange server. I've also made RIPREP images for the various
different types of machines that we have here. When I deploy Office using a
flat installation of Windows XP SP 2 (straight off the CD), Outlook picks up
the user settings and Exchange mailbox. This is exactly what I want BUT when
I use one of the RIPREP images and deploy exactly the same Office MSI image,
Outlook comes up with a setup screen when it's run, indicating that it either
a) hasn't picked up the MST files settings, or b) doesn't have access to a
particular file or directory? I'm not sure.
Does anyone have any ideas as to whether or not there is a correlation
between RIPREP images and Office installations? Basically the problem is that
Outlook XP finds the Exchange server for the currently logged on user when
used with a FLAT installation of WinXPSP2 but when it's configured with a
RIPREP image, it fails to find the server.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm really desperate to find a
solution to this problem
Thanks
