this may sound like a stupid question, but if i've set up a schedule and rule
on my home computer to forward my email to a yahoo address while i'm away,
what should the status of my home computer be? can i leave it in sleep mode?
will the schedule work while it's shut down?

thanks.

Your computer needs to be fully turned-on and not in sleep mode.

We could save a LOT of electricity if computer programs could run with
the computer turned off!

The computer must be on. Entourage must be set up to automatically fetch
mail, unless you are connected to a messaging system like MS Exchange
(in which case the Exchange server should take care of forwarding, and
you can switch off your computer).

To be on the safe side, after setting up the home computer to "away
mode" you should do a simple test: Send a message from the outside to
yourself, and then check to see if it gets routed to the correct address.
