Office error

i have microsoft xp on my computer at home an recently
whenever i have tried to use any microsoft office software
when i try to open a menu it appears seethrough and empty.
this then effect my start menu in xp. I have ran numerous
scans, defragmented my computer, downloaded patches from
microsoft.com, ran virus scans but i cannot find the
source of the error. The only thing that is unusual is
every now and again my web cache has items listed when i
havent accessed the internet. I downloaded some scan and
ad ware and unplugged my computer from the net but this
hasnt solved that problem. My last ditch effort was to
remove office from my computer entirely and reload it on,
but this hasnt worked either. the same problem keeps
arrising. before i have to restart my computer from a
previous date does anyone have any suggestions on how this
could be fixed. all ideas welcome

Detect and Repair is in all Office applications under the Help on the menu.
Office 2000 has issued Service Packs (there are 3) which may solve some of your
problems.

Empty your temporary cache, in IE, tools, Internet Options, delete files.

Update your video driver, go to the manufacturer's web site and look around for a
newer driver.
