Office executables loading on startup

Hi

Technical question. Been using Process Explorer 10.2 and noticed that
during startup after I have just logged in, various Office executables
appear then disappear (e.g. winword.exe, excel.exe powerpnt.exe, etc.). Is
this normal (by design) and if so, why?

Using Office 2003 on a Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2
installation, Dell 3.06GHz P4 with HT, 1.5GB RAM, all fully pathched
