Office Files Open Slowly

I could use some help in discovering a problem I now have opening Word and
Excel files. I have Office XP and lately it takes about 15 seconds to open
any file if opening it from MY DOCUMENTS. If I open the application first and
then open the file from the Menu it opens right away. I have don't all system
clean-up and defrags. Please help!

I have the same problem. Only mine is even slower. Up to 35 or 40 seconds.
I sure hope someone has found a cure.
