Office Floorplans

We are moving and I am thinking about buying Visio to do my floorplan layout.
Can this program do a floorplan layout TO SCALE?

If so, is this program very user friendly in creating a floorplan for
someone that isn't an Architect and uses AutoCAD everyday?

I am very Microsoft Office literate and therefor familiar with all it's
tools and capabilities as a user not a developer.

Hi RR,

Visio has scale capability. In fact the office templates are created in 1/2"
= 1'-0" or 1/4" = 1'-0" (or similar metric scales for non-US users)

The shapes are created in scaled sizes as well, so your chair shape will be
24" x 24" (for example)

Visio has lots of snap and drawing-assist features, but it's not cad, so
drawing vectors super-precisely is something that CAD can often do better.
But with Visio, a room outline becomes a matter of repositioning a wall
shape, not drawing four lines. And that wall shape will have properties like
"Thickness", and center-line = middle/outside/inside.

And for placing the furniture inside of those walls, well, CAD can't come
close! It's just drag and drop, and you're done!
