i have the disk for 'Office for Mac' with 3 different product keys on
the back. i installed it on my PowerBook G4 and migrated to my MacBook
Pro. it automaticly installed it with the same key (obviously) i used
for the first one. ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling it several
times and nothing changed, and it never asked me for the key. how do i
change the product key on one of my comptuers (PowerBook G4/MacBook
Pro). i dont care which one, as long as they are different

-Thanks :)

Hi Josh:

Start the Remove Office tool. After you launch the application, immediately
Press the option key at the first dialog window and the button changes its
name to read "Remove License Info Only."

Do that, and the next time you start an application, it will prompt you for
a new key.

Cheers

Nope :) I'll leave that to Diane and Paul, they're the Entourage experts,
I'm a Word worrier... :)

This did not work for me. I am having the same issue. I put the same
product key on two different laptops. How do you change one of them to a new
license key? I am not sure why noone thought of this.. "HEY need a new
license key? BUY NOW.. ENTER IT HERE"

They did think of it :) It is in the Remove Office Tool.

Run the Remove Office tool, and hold down the Option Key while it starts.

It will give you the option to remove the Product Key. Do that, quit it,
then start one of the Office applications. I will prompt you for a new
product key.

Cheers

As John wrote, the possible need was both recognized & provided for by the
process he described. If you're having difficulty executing that process
successfully then there is another issue that needs to be addressed. If you
provide complete & specific details as to what is/is not happening for you
perhaps someone will be able to offer some assistance:)

As to why it isn't a more flagrantly obvious process: I, for one, have been
using MS apps on the Mac since they were first released. During that ~25
years I've also supported several small to medium companies using Office on
Macs & hundreds [perhaps thousands] of individual users along the way.
Excluding one or two occurrences through this newsgroup I've *never* had
occasion to change the key of an existing installation:) IMHO, putting it
right out there where any fool can find it without trying is likely to cause
more harm than good... It isn't something that needs to be done routinely.
