Office for Mac - Part of Technet Subscription?

Does anyone know if/when Office for Mac will be part of the Technet
subscription for download and product key access?
Thanks.

Don't know, and don't have much expectation that it will, but you can
use the Help/Send Feedback... menu option to let MacBU know that you
want it in Technet (put it a good word for MSDN subscriptions, too,
while you're at it).

The reason I think it's unlikely is the dominant sales mode of WinOffice
(corporate subscriptions) and MacOffice (retail sales) are, internally,
so different. I've received zero interest from MSDN in adding MacOffice
to their mix.

I might be mistaken - really didn't pay close attention since I already own
a license - but I believe I saw Mac Office on a disk in one of the more
recent TechNet monthly shipments. Can't confirm 'cause they're at home & I'm
not, but dredge through the last 3 months worth.

May be that's what I saw, John. Like I say, I can't remember exactly what I
saw, but perhaps was in shock even to see Mac mentioned in the first place
:) I'll look into it when I get home & let you know what I find out.

I sent a similar feedback ages ago.
Though Mac:VPC is on MSDN....

Yep - That was it... The Dec Service Pack disk had the Mac SP2 for 2004.
Sorry if I unnecessarily elevated any heart rates :)

Hi Beil,

Microsoft Office 2004 is not included with MSDN or TechNet subscriptions.
Microsoft has not announced any plans to change this situation.

If this policy does not lead to customer satisfaction then please contact
Microsoft and tell them.

MSDN contact form is here:
https://support.microsoft.com/common/survey.aspx?scid=sw;en;1227&showpage=1&
ws=msdn&sd=msdn&pa=msdns

The TechNet program then contact form is here:

ws=technet&sd=tech&pa=TechNetSubscriptionIssues

Hi Corentin,

It's a matter of sales. Whenever a person or organization doesn't purchase
MSDN or TechNet because it lacks Mac Office, then MSDN and TechNet lose
sales.

Letting Microsoft know via the feedback options in particular that a sale
was lost specifically for that reason would have an effect if it became a
regular occurrence.

Lack of Mac Office in MSDN &/or TechNet could be an incentive to drive
volume customers to consider alternatives such as OpenOffice, NeoOffice,
Google spreadsheet, Google word processor, etc.

On the other hand MacBU has been flexible with regard to volume purchases
the past few years, so maybe buying Mac Office instead of MSDN and/or
TechNet is the way to go. If you're primarily a Mac shop then you don't
really need the rest of MSDN or TechNet.

If you're primarily or even exclusively a PC shop, without Mac Office there
is diminished value for MSDN, as you can't test and compare the Mac product
even if you wanted to. So you still have to spend extra money to get
something you might expect to be included, but it isn't.
