Office for OS-X affecting Mac mail

Had a problem with fonts in word, followed advice on here, deleting
office font cache and repairing permissions, but a problem still
persists. Am using the mac mail program in panther and since I
installed office for osx (professional) it displays email addresses
(both to and from) as gibberish. The underlying addresses are still
there (visible when the mouse is held over them) but I can't figure
out how to prevent this. Norton Antivirus is up to date and I have run
a complete scan on my hard disk and there are no viruses. Doe anyone
know how to help me? Thanks in advance.

Hi Chalky,

You're saying that *Mail* displays email addresses as gibberish? From your
explanation, I'm not sure what this problem has to do with Word. Please
clarify and, when you post back, state your exact OS and Office versions,
including what updaters you have applied.
