Office Genuine Advantage -- no real support?

It appears that there's no real tech support for Office Genuine Advantage.

My copy of Office 2007 Basic is validated, and OGA apparently knows it to
be genuine.

HOWEVER, I can't get updates to Office 2007 because the OGA tool thinks
that my copy of Access 2002 has not been activated.

From the OGA web site that I get when I try to download updates to Office
2007:

"Microsoft Office Basic 2007
The product(s) listed above completed validation. However, as a result of
the failed or incomplete validation(s) listed below, this computer is not
eligible for the benefits of genuine Office.

Microsoft Access 2002:
Validation Incomplete: Office Must Be Activated
The validation process could not be completed because your copy of
Microsoft Office has not been activated."

THIS IS NOT TRUE! My copy of Access 2002 HAS been activated. If I open
Access 2002, and click on Help/Activate, I get a dialog that tells me that
Access 2002 has already been activated. It works just fine, also.

(Access 2002 is a retail upgrade, and I have the box and the CD with the
COA sticker, in my hand.)

Access 2002 is not really supported any more, and I have gone 'round and
'round in the phone trees with various support people. The OGA people tell
me that they don't support any code; they just operate as a call center and
give people their options.

The Office 2007 people tell me that they work on Office 2007 code issues,
and any OGA problems are dealt with by the OGA team.

I am stuck with a legal copy of Access 2002 and a legal copy of Office
2007, but I can't get updates for Office 2007 because the OGA tool is
telling me that Access 2002 has not been activated, when it HAS been
activated. (Only once, and only on this computer.)

Is there any hope? Any suggestions?

The upshot is that if you install to Office 2007 Basic you're forced to
uninstall your copy of Access 2002 in order to get updates for Office Basic
2007?

I don't think this was the intention of the Office Genuine Advantage team,
but that's the effect I am seeing.
