Office Genuine Advantage Update Requires Activation

Ever since my PC downloaded and installed the Office Genuine Advantage Update
on September 1, my PC pops up a window every few hours telling me that I must
validate my Office XP. But when I select Activate from the Help menu of
Outlook or Word, another popup tells me that my Office XP has already been
activated, which I remember doing in 2002. How can I stop the Office Genuine
Advantage from telling me to activate my product for validation?

My Office XP is doing the same thing. I don't remember the date but it was
recently and I'm fairly sure it was after the Genuine update.

Does anyone have a fix to this? It is a bit of a pain! I think you are right
about the cause. I have declined the update on my other computers.
