I'm currently using Office Groove 2007 on my professional laptop I have a
license for Office Groove 2007.
I want to use two other devices to share workspaces with them (one desktop
in my home and one desktop in an othe office premises).
As I won't use the three devices in the mean time do I need to buy two more
Offce Groove licenses or can I use the same license for the three devices?
If yes, can I use the same SW key?

Thanks. SFSA

Hi sfa

Good news! you can use your Groove account on up to 5 computers.

Chose Options | Preferences from the main menu then click the Account tab
and hit the Save button. Take the resulting file to your other computers,
install Groove and add the account file when you get to the appropriate point
in the install.

Hi Mark and c1sbc,

One further question regarding groove licences.

We (in my company) intends to use groove for sharing project issues
information between project stakeholders meaning that some of the
account/identities involved in the process will not be internal but external
resources from customers or partners.

Some of these external resources have no interest in Groove (bouhh!!!) and
will have to install groove on their desktop for the only purpose of the
above process. Therefore they don't want to buy Office Groove 2007.

For privacy and securtiy resaons we intend to either use Groove Enterprise
Services or even build our own Groove server infrastructure.
But how can we distribute sort licenses to external stakeholder?
Is there a license for Groove client inculded in the license for Groove
Enterprise Services?
If yes is this licence a sort floating license?

Thanks for help. sfsa

Unless facing legal constraints, I'd use Microsoft's hosting, and I'd just
pay the $79 per collaborator/year and write the cost off against the project
and be done with it. You'll spend more time (==money) mucking about with
servers and license management than its worth, unless you have scores of
collaborators.

This is not what we are seeing - I've activated the account on my
laptop and my groove says trial. If I try to activate it, it says
I've already used my activations. As it stands, my $80 a year has it
working only on my primary machine. How exactly are these 5 installs
suppose to work? It sure sounds like you are saying I do NOT have to
buy a second copy so I can use it on my laptop under my same account.

Any help would be appreciated - we are having a time here as we try to
move a groove licence off one machine and on to another. There
doesn't seem to be a way to do it.

Regards,
Nick H

Unfortunately, Groove licensing has changed since Microsoft took over
Groove Networks.

Licensing for Groove Virtual Office 3.x used to be 1 license for your
Groove account on 5 computers maximum.

Licensing for Groove 2007 is according to the Microsoft Office licensing
model, meaning 1 PC + 1 Laptop only. In case you buy Groove with
Software Assurance, you can also install Groove on 1 PC at home (Home
Use Program)
