Office Group Policy updated ADM files - where have they gone....?

A

Adrian Moss

I'm trying to get hold of the updated Office ADM files as mentioned in the
Office Devlelopment Centre Journal
(http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/assistance/HA011513711033.aspx Assistance
Deployment Center Assistance > Office 2003 Resource Kit > Journal).
However, I can't seem totrack it down. The filename is:

"Office-2003-SP1-Resource-Kit-ADM-Updates.exe"

Has it just been absorbed into the ORK now?

Also, has anybody used them and is there anything useful in them? :¬)

Many thanks,

Ade

They're on the main downloads page at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/orkarchive/2003ddl.htm. Look for the (badly
labeled) InfoPath 2003 ADM File -
Office-2003-SP1-ADMs-OPAs-and-Explain-Text.exe. It's well worth getting. The
included spreadsheets tell you whath's new.

Many thanks for that. You're right, it looks like there's some interesting

Andi

I have downloaded these templates and the spreadsheet and while the
spreadsheet shows some nice options for setting default connections to
Exchange, when I open the actual template in MMC, I do not see these options
as part of the template. Seems to me that a windows user connecting to an
exchange server within a domain using Active Directory should be able to be
set up so that the connection happens automatically and IS does not have to
go to each and every desktop for each and every user and/or walk them through
it over the phone. Can anyone help me find the file that actually contains
these settings as advertised? I just keep hitting walls.

Thanks,
Andi
