Office has adopted Euro settings

It appears as though my Microsoft Office 2004 for the Mac has had it's
global settings changed to that of the Euro. For example, in Excel my
numbers are in the format 2,4 as opposed to 2.4. This is making
formula changes very difficult! Furthermore, in Word, my page
settings now have margins as 0,5" as opposed to 0.5". I think this is
a global office setting and have been unsuccessful in fixing this by
looking under Preferences, or within the Mac International settings.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, but there is no "global office setting" - Office picks this info up
from your OS X System Preferences. Recheck International> Format to make
sure Region is set to United States (I assume) as well as the correctness of
the other settings.

If they are set to one group of specs but behaving differently it suggests
that you may have a corrupt System Preferences file. Try changing the
settings to something else, then go back & restore them to what you want.
Make sure OS X is fully updated with the latest Combo updaters, run Disk
Utility - Repair Disk Permissions & see if anything improves after a restart
of your Mac.

If not, you might want to post to the Apple Discussions forum to get the
error corrected.

Alternatively, is it possible that the wrong language update has been
applied? (Don't know, as I've never tried it!)

Interesting thought, Phil, but [although I'm not 100% certain] I don't
believe that can be done with Office. My understanding is that if you
attempt to apply an updater that's in different language version than what
it's being applied to it will not apply... Similar to what would happen if
you tried to apply 11.3.7 without having applied 11.3.6 first.
