Hello,
I am attempting to install Office Home and Student 2007 on an XP SP3
computer that has not had Office installed on it before. The software begins
with the option to enter the product key. I can choose to enter or not enter
the result is the same. I select the Install Now button. The Installing
Office 2007 window appears and the progress bar get 1 little sliver of blue.
The next screen has the following error "Microsoft Office Home and Student
2007 encountered an error during setup."
I've performed the following and have had the same results.
1. Perform a disk clean up.
2. Perform an ad ware clean up.
3. Restarted the computer.
I am also having problems with getting Microsoft updates and I wonder if the
two problems are related.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
