I just bought home edition 2007 for my computer. Before I open it, does it
allow for more than one install. Will it allow install on my desk top
computer and my lap top computer? OR is it a one time install on ONLY on
one computer. Please reply as soon as possible. Thanks

The retail version of Home and Student (shrink wrapped version and #1 below)
is able to be installed on three different computers for use by you and your
family in the same household but NOT for commercial purposes.

The preinstalled and activated version by the computer manufacturer is the
OEM version or #2 below.

The preinstalled but purchased key from where the computer is purchased is
the Media License Kit or #3 below.

Yes as long as a) you have a RETAIL version and NOT OEM and b) you do NOT
use it for commercial purposes...

ohnonotnow!

let me add to LVTravel's helpful cut and paste because this was confusing to
me --
the limit of 3 computers means "at one time". you can deactivate the
licensed device and reassign to a different licensed device as many times as
you like. so in the future, you needn't buy another copy simply because you
have installed it on 3 computers already.

to verify this, after you do your installs, click on the About button and
read the EULA there. scroll down ~2pages or so and read the section on
reassigning.

btw maybe LVTravel will add that bit to his cut and paste for future
postings. i think it would be helpful, especially since the reassignment
stuff is so far removed from the the top Overview which for us eula newcomers
seems more restrictive than it actually is. (thanks)
