Is there a way to 'delete' a filename in Recent Documents that is SHOWN, but
is not available due to the fact that I've changed the original filename?

(Like where is it kept? I find I cannot delete a filename from the Recent
Documents menu.)

I KNOW I can 'Open' Excel, go to Excel Options, go to Advanced, go to
Display, and select the number of filenames I wish to show. I know this.
But...

Does anyone know how to delete Recent Document filenames so I can display
many and NOT have it be confusing?

Set the displayed number of documents to a number low enough to not show
the bad one. Then reset it to the desired number. Or open enough other
files to push it off the list, or resort to editing the registry.
