Office Install/Product Key/PID

When I first bought my PC, it came with a trial version of MS Office. I then
bought MS Office XP on my own before the 3 month trial version ran out. I
installed it. Now I'm trying to convert it over and it's not working. It
says to enter in the product key number from the back fo the cd case. I did
and it says that it's invalid. So now I can't install it on my pc. Any
suggesstions?
