Office Installation

G

George Schneider

I have an Office 2003 Professional CD and wanted to automate the install?
Can I create a new CD that would auto input the License key, user name,
organization, install type, and to keep the local install cache, etc? If so
how could I do this?

Also is there a way to put SP3 into this CD as well?

Dear George,

Thank you for posting in our Partner Online Technical Community.

From your description, I understand that you would like to burn a new CD to
install Office 2003 automatically so that the process will auto input the
License key, user name, organization, install type and keep the local
install cache. In addition, you also want to add Service Pack 3 into the
CD. If there has been any misunderstanding, please let me know.

Before we go further, please understand that the Partner Managed Newsgroups
provide technical support assistance based on specific break/fix issues and
simple "how to" questions. Any customization questions are out of the scope
of our community support.

To address your concern, we may need to follow the steps below to customize
the setup.ini file:

1. Copy all files from your Office 2003 Professional CD to C drive or D
drive.
2. Find the SETUP.INI file and it should be in the \FILES\SETUP folder.
3. Open the SETUP.INI file and add several lines under the [Options]
section:

PIDKEY=ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXY (replace with your license key)
Username=customer (replace with your name)
Companyname=my company (replace with your company)

Note: I am sorry to say that there is no section to customize the "Install
Type" of Office 2003 installation.

4. To keep the local install cache, we may leave the Purge value as 0.
5. Please burn all Office installation files to a new CD.

For detailed information about customizing the setup.ini file, please refer
to the following articles:

In addition, we can burn the installation file of Office 2003 Service Pack
3 into a CD. However, we may order an Office 2003 Service Pack 3
installation disk from the link below:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/FX010383631033.aspx

I look forward to hear from you.
