Server 2000 SP4
Windows XP Pro Workstations (SP2)
Office 2003
Deep Freeze 5.20 (www.faronics.com)
Symantec Ghost 8.5
We have several labs here at our school that have Office 2003 installed. We
have multi-user machines in those labs and they are locked with Deep Freeze.
We build images, sysprep them and Ghost the machines in each lab each
symester. We have mapped drives and printers via scripts for the users so
they can log on any PC at school and get access to their documents, etc. The
only problem is when the users logs in to each pc, Windows Installer runs for
every user when they run an Office application. Is there not a way via GPO,
or script to run the installer in the background when the user logs in or set
a switch on the installer so when, say the Adminstrator of the machine logs
in it applies to all users? Or in the last instance would the user have to
already have logged in?
TIA
