Office Integration: What happened?

What happened to the integration of Office components?

I'm using components from Office '07 (Word, Excel and Outlook). For
the first time since upgrading to '07 from '00, I'm trying to print an
envelop in Word using address data from Outlook.

And it's not working.

I get an error message that my default mail client does not support
this or that Outlook is not configured to be my default mail client. I
never had this problem with Office '00 components.

It won't even let me drag and drop the card from Outlook to the Print
Envelope window in Word, but I CAN drag and drop it into Agent and have
it show up as text I can copy, but again, not into Word. Trying that
to Word and I wind up with an embedded file.

I do not use Outlook for email so of course it's not set to be my
default mail client. I use it for my desktop PIM needs.

In Office 2007 the procedure to do this is the opposite from that of
previous versions - you do it within Word, not from Outlook. Add the Address
Book icon to the QAT (Quick Access Toolbar) and do it from there.

Huh? You can do it from either word or outlook but outlook needs to be the
default mail client. Since the user mentions Agent is installed, I'm betting
that Outlook is not the default email client.

How does this allow me to pull an address out of Outlook directly to a
Print Envelope window?

Oh, and I get the same error if I try to add an address to a document.

The full text of the error message:

"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client
cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office
Outlook and set it as the default mail client".

As I already indicated, I do not use Outlook for email and therefore it
is intentionally not my default mail client. Setting it to be so will
break my use of email with my preferred email client.

AFAIK NONE of this will work unless Outlook is the default Email client.
AFAIK there is no way around this.

Thank you, even if it's not the answer I wanted.
