I've been getting the messsage that another copy of MS office is running on
the n etwork using my licence, since mine should be the only one how would I
find out who else is using my licence? Is there a way to track the IP of the
other copy running?

AFAIK, there's no built-in way. You could use a packet sniffer to see
where the replies are coming from. As I understand it, Office broadcasts
its Product ID (PID) on the LAN on startup. When a running copy of
Office detects this, it sends back its own PID. If the copy starting up
gets finds the same PID is already running, it shuts down.

Is it possible to get the license# from Word. If it is, and there aren't too
many employees, send an email asking for the other peoples license# when you
have this problem and see which one is identical. I think this is the
easiest way.

You can't get the license number from the program. About... only shows the
Product ID. However, someone pointed out a while back that while the Product
ID changes on every installation, the same license number generates almost
the same Product ID every time--only the last 5 digits differ. So a Product
ID with the first 3 sections identical to yours should be the problem
program.

Intersting. Another practical approach is to let Word stay open when it can
be opened. Then, send out a mail asking the recipients to start Word and
reply to the sender if it won't.
