Office legality

With such differences in prices for Office on offers some of them must be
illegal copies.

Is there a way of establishing legality of Office without first installing
it, say from the number of Product Key?

The web I had for checking the legality of Windows and Office:
http://www.microsoft.com/resources/sam/msia/default.asp
no longer exists.

Thank you,

Jan

Hi Jan,

MS redid some of the Anit-piracy and Software Management Tool pages.
See if the information here helps:

Hi Bob

Thank you for the reply.

What if one is buying a second hand "unused" but opened product, is there a
way of checking whether it has been used and the Product Number registered
with Microsoft?
